High street round-up: The iPhone makes way for Nokia's N95

The range of non-mobile items on offer in Carphonewarehouse stores continues to grow, with three Slingbox products that allow users to ‘watch TV on your mobile or PC – anywhere!’. The devices start at £230. Customers signing up to AOL can choose between a free laptop and a PS3.

A number of cash back deals are on offer at Phones 4u, with the Nokia N81 free on Vodafone contracts of £40, with 750 minutes and £50 cash back. Customers can get £150 cash-back with the Nokia 6300 on contracts upwards of £25 with Vodafone or Orange. Vodafone customers get 150 minutes and 500 texts, while those on Orange get 225 minutes and 100 texts. Online, the Samsung U600 on Vodafone comes with three months’ half-price line rental, a free Xbox 360, 500 minutes and 500 texts for £40.

The iPhone is still the boss in O2’s store displays, along with the iPod Touch, which is on sale from £199. And another Apple product, the iPod Nano, is free with all pay-monthly handsets in Orange stores. Still on offer in stores is the Sony Ericsson W580i for £99.99, exclusive to Orange in pink with unlimited texts. On contract, the Sony Ericsson W910i is exclusive to Orange in red, with unlimited texts and 500 minutes for £35.

O2 and Vodafone are both promoting a range of peripherals as stocking fillers, including Bluetooth kits and speakers. Vodafone is selling Motorola’s MOTOROKR S9 Bluetooth headset for £60, while Skullcandy Ink’d headphones are a little easier on the pocket at £14.99 from O2 stores. Both are also offering ‘danglies’; Winnie the Pooh, Ketachi Friends and Mr Men and Little Miss themed pendants to attach to phones from £2.99 each.

Samsung’s F700 is the latest music phone to be displayed in Vodafone’s windows. It will be free on price plans upwards of £30 and comes with a pair of in-ear Bose headphones. The music continues with ‘the perfect gift’ for pay-as-you-go customers: 15 free music tracks with a range of prepay handsets, including another Samsung, the U700, for £130. For those with a little more to spend, the Sony Ericsson W910i is £300.

Sony Ericsson’s W910i and the LG KU990 Viewty have arrived in 3 stores and are available on its Mix&Match tariffs. Also on offer is Nokia’s N95 at £24 per month with 300 texts or minutes, while T-Mobile is still promoting a pair of Nokias – the N73 at £99.99 and the 6300 at £79.99 – both with £10 of airtime.

CarphoneWarehouse’s exclusive graphite version of the Nokia N95 (not the 8GB version on Vodafone) has found some window space among the Apple iPhones under the strapline ‘Made for Music’. The handset is free with £30 O2 contracts. And ‘this week only’, Sony Ericsson’s K800i is available for £69.95 with Orange.
